Dayo Scuba Return and Refund Policy

At Dayo Scuba, we strive to provide the best quality service to our customers, and ensure that everyone is pleased with their interactions with us. The following outlines our Returns and Refund Policy for scuba classes, rescheduling class, merchandise and our boat trips.

Class Refund Policy

When enrolling in any of our scuba programs you will always be pre-qualified. It is important that you are physically and psychologically fit to dive safely and know how to swim. Once we are satisfied of that, you can then enroll in a scuba program. Once enrolled you have 72 hours to withdraw from the class and be eligible for a refund of your tuition less the cost of materials and a non refundable deposit.

Once you start the hands on/water portion of the class, starting with the pool session, there are no refunds.

All refunds must be requested in writing (letter, fax or email).

Rescheduling Policy

We are happy to transfer you to another class at no charge if you need to reschedule 7 days prior to when you scheduled your class. After that, there is a $100 fee to reschedule.

We schedule our classes (often months) in advance, to insure we are able to offer the most effective learning experience to students. Once we set up a class, and commit students to it, we incur costs (instructor, pool booking, and contracted dive sites), that cannot be recouped if students simply don't turn up.

If you fail to show up for class for the scheduled academic/gear fitting session, confined water or openwater portions of the program you will not be eligible to receive any refund, and rescheduling will incur the $100 fee.

*** We reschedule the public Open Water Class if we don't get a minimum of 3 persons. We sometimes don't know this until a week before due to people resheduling. Please monitor our calendar for updates on a scheduled class.

If you are not comfortable or have any difficulties in the confined water we are happy to work with you, but after a second pool session, any additional training will be at the expense of the student. These fees will be based on how many additional sessions are required and will cover equipment, facility and the instructor.

Retail Store Return Policy

At Dayo Scuba, it is our mission to train and certify comfortable, confident, and skilled SCUBA divers. We truly believe that there are three fundamental elements that make up a qualified diver; knowledge, skill, and equipment. Equipment should fit properly and be truly functional for its intended use.

We strongly believe that a person should make educated choices when selecting dive gear and may ultimately find that it is not best suited for the diver's needs. This is why we will take back scuba gear with all of it's original packaging and documentation and the gear must not been damaged in any way. The return must be made within 14 days of purchase and be accompanied by the original sales slip and credit card slip if applicable. This will be exchanged for a store credit in the full amount of the purchase price or refunded less a 20 percent restocking fee that is applied. Store credit is then good for 6 months.

Our retail store refund policy does not apply to special orders or non-stocking items.

Boat Trip Policy

In order to secure a guaranteed spot on one of our boat trips, you will need to select the date you wish to join us on and make payment in full. In the event something comes up where you are not able to make the trip, there is a sliding refund/rebook scale that reflects the likelihood of our being able to re-sell the spot that you have already claimed.

If you cancel 7 or more days prior to the commencement of boarding of the trip, you will be offered a full refund or a 100% rebooking credit for a future trip (to be used within one year.)

Within 3-7 days of boat departure, we will only refund your money/give a credit if we are able to fill your spot.

If you cancel within 3 days of the trip, no refund/credit for a future trip will be offered. This also includes situations in which a person missed the boat for whatever reason (traffic problems, car trouble or illness/injury).

We offer a 100% refund on boat trips that were canceled by the boat operator (ie: weather).
