Dayo Scuba (Winter) Fun Dives!

North Florida Springs - Royal Springs, Orange Grove at Peacock Springs, and Troy Springs

We have planned some weekend fun dives and even demo cavern dives for the following weekends:

December: 17-18th

January: 14-15th

February: 11-12th

March: 11-12th

We will try to dive all three springs (Orange Grove, Royal and Troy) over the weekend. Come up for one or both days.

Camping (Friday and/or Saturday nights) is available on the Dayo North property (bring your own camping gear/tent). Bathroom, water and electricity is available, no charge for participants. Other area lodging is available, so contact us for more information on that.

Troy Springs Website

Troy Springs is a 70 foot deep, first magnitude (lots of flow) spring located on the Suwannee River in Lafayette County in North Florida.

Typical Visibility is 25+ feet

Water Temperature: 72 degrees F/22 degrees C year round

Highlights: Easy access, easy to navigate, civil war wreck remains to explore in the shallow spring run!

Cost is $5 (I believe) per car

Orange Grove at Peacock Springs Website

Orange Grove sink is one of many karst windows at Peacock Springs, but the only one available to open water diving. The basin is 60 feet deep, but a lower cavern goes to 99 feet. There are 3 cave/caverns in this system.

The water quality varies through out the seasons, from algae bloom in the shallows, but usually crystal clear at depth.

Water Temperature: 72 degrees F/22 degrees C year round.

Highlights: Very easy access, easy to navigate, and way bigger than it looks underwater.

Cost is $4 per car

Royal Springs

Royal Springs is a Suwannee County park. Localed alongside the Suwannee River near Branford Florida. The max depth is 50 feet.

This site can get silty, so use good bouyancy and trim when diving here, or get their first!

Water Temperature: 72 degrees F/22 degrees C year round.

Highlights: Entry is free. Adequate parking, and a high jump for the brave (foolish).

Located just outside of the town of Live Oak, in North Florida. Near Lake City, north of Gainesville.
